The New Future Funds provide an opportunity for you to make a real, measurable difference in the lives of tens of thousands of the world’s most disadvantaged children and adolescents.
Here’s what we love – and what we think you will love – about these innovative programs, and why we’re taking the unusual step of partnering with Strømme Foundation to offer the New Future Funds to you:
Bottom Up – these creative solutions are home-grown by local non-profit organizations in the countries where they are changing lives and communities, and eventually, the future of their nations. Local community members participate in and contribute to the programs, making them community owned and community endorsed – a requirement for truly transformative change.
Effective – we’ve carefully investigated these programs and have found them to be highly effective; these programs don’t just promise to make a difference, they deliver on that promise. Learn more about the results of Speed School and Shonglap.
Scalable – these programs have been tried, tested, and proved. They are at a point where they can easily and cost-effectively be replicated in hundreds of new communities, providing opportunities for tens of thousands of children, young women, and their families.
Dependency-free: Strømme Foundation's programs intentionally avoid the problem of dependency often found in education programs, which require donors to pay a child’s school fees year-after-year. Strømme Foundation's programs focus on helping communities help themselves. It’s a hand up, not a hand out. Each of their programs lasts less than a year, and then moves on to a new location, to help new communities help themselves.
Exceptional value: It’s rare to find programs with this kind of impact for so little investment. A new Speed School can be started for around $5,000, or about $200 per child. Shonglap programs can be initiated in a new community for around $2,500, or about $100 per girl. In both cases, it’s a small investment to transform the life of a child or young girl, to impact a community, and to help transform a country. |
